Zoo...Duex

So, I realize it hasn't been long since the last Zoo post, but we love the place what can I say! I kept both my godchildren (John,7 and Madisson,11) overnight this week. John had never been to the zoo and Madi hadn't been in a few years so I figured I would put my membership to good use. We spent almost the whole day there despite the heat. I really enjoyed watching how excited the kids were to see all the different animals. Fun times!

Today (Tuesday, but today where he is) is this cowboy's birthday!!

A fact I am sure he is desperately trying to sweep under the rug...

But I won't let that happen, because it is too darn exciting!!!!

Amigos at The Park

This weekend was probably the last of our mild weather so we tried to take full advantage. We met up with our friends at the park on Saturday and had a picnic and lots of play time. Fairwell 80 degree afternoons, hello triple digits. *sigh*

Even though you can't be home with us this Father's Day, know that you are in our thoughts and our hearts. We love you soooo much and appreciate all that you do for us each and every day.

18 Months

I say it every time, but can you even believe that Jace is 18 months old today!!?? Our baby is long gone and has been replaced by a rambunctious, spirited, fun-loving, always on the go, affectionate little boy. Jace changes so much every day that I can't even keep up. I have to look at him extra carefully at night because by morning he always seems to be a little bit more grown up. *tear* I truly feel like EVERY age is my favorite as he grows up into this little person, but right now he is in such a fun stage of his life. Everything is still new and exciting, but he is big enough to really enjoy it all and take it all in. Jace's favorite thing to say is "go-go." And that is what he always wants to do. He is always on the move and happiest when we are out and about. I love having my little man to go do things with and it helps to make even mundane errands an exciting adventure. He brings more joy to our life than we ever could have dreamed!

I decided after spending WAY TOO MUCH on Jace's 1 year pictures, that I would finally try my hand at doing them myself. Taking pictures of a VERY active toddler is not easy AT ALL, but I think we got a couple keepers.

A Day at the Zoo!

The weather has been unusaully mild for June so we have been spending LOTS of time outside. We (ok, mostly me) were getting a little bored with the backyard so I decided to take Jace to the zoo today. I haven't been to the Chaffee Zoo in I can't remember how long and Jace has never been so I figured it was time. He had an absolute BLAST! It's funny because we took Jace to the San Diego Zoo back in February so I thought our little zoo may not be as exciting to him. Boy was I wrong! I can't decide if it is because he is a little older or because our zoo is small and a little more toddler friendly, but he was absolutely amazed. We had so much fun that I bought us a family membership!

Jace was VERY excited about the Camel, or MOM-EL, as he called it (should I be offended?). He kept making kissy noises trying to get the camel to come over to him. Once he mastered saying CAMEL, every single animal was officially a Camel.

Feeding the giraffes was lots of fun!! They were so friendly and let us pet them and love on them. This was probably my favorite part of the zoo. They are just so beautiful and sweet.

And apparently they like the spotlight. hehe.

I will admit, I shkeeved a little at the touching of the stingrays, but the kids enjoyed it and there was a hand washing station so it wasn't too bad. =0)

Turtle Turtles...

The zoo is another "back of the head" kind of picture locations. I thought this one was cute. Jace was just the right height to peek through all of the fences.

Jumping kangaroos are quiet humorous...

Jace's goat. Once they found eachother, Jace and this little goat were inseperable. The little thing followed us all around the petting zoo.

So we decided we would give him some lovin and brush his coat.

Best part was that my little monkey still had this face after all day at the zoo! I would call today a success!

Beach Fun!!

Sunday afternoon my friend Melissa and I packed up the kids and drove to Monterey to visit our other friend Tami. It was an absolutely GORGEOUS day and we took full advantage by heading straight to the beach. Jace had a great time playing in the sand and letting the waves crash against his feet. I literally could not keep this little boy out of the water!

The Mommas!


On Monday we went to Monterey Bay Aquarium. Taking pictures in an aquarium is pretty much pointless, as you can't use a flash and it is rediculously dark. Here is Jace checking out the sharks and big schools of fish.


Here are all the kiddos after their bath (I'm saving that picture reveal for their High School years. hehe!) All clean and ready for bed. They are all such good kids! They love just being together and they play so well! It makes it really nice for us mommys when we get them all together.

Our Little Performer

This child sings CONSTANTLY. He even stole my Wii microphone and claimed it for his own. Here is just a little sampling of one of Jace's favorite songs to sing. If you have kids, you may recognize it as his attempt at the Ooh and Ahh song from Playhouse Disney.
