Swim Class Graduation

I am so sad to say that last night was our last swim class. Jace loved it so much that I am sad we will have to wait to do it again until next year. Last night was fun. Jace got a medal and a ribbon in a cute little ceremony. Then he got to swim his little heart out. He had so much fun doing these classes! The swim instructor suggested he forgoe Mommy and Me classes next year, as she thinks he is ready for REAL swim lessons. He really is very good, but we will see if he is ready for formal instruction when the time comes. We were happy that Nonna was able to make it to his last couple classes. She had fun watching him swim up a storm.

More Peas Please....

To celebrate Jace's half birthday I treated him to his first taste of veggies! (What? Did you think he should get cake??) I decided to start him out with Peas and was actually a little worried that he wouldn't care for them. Boy was I wrong! He absolutely LOVED them! I take it as a compliment since I slaved over a hot stove and food processer to make his baby food fresh. Paid off though and really was very easy!

A Very Merry Half Birthday....

TO JACE!!!! Our little boy is 6 months old today!! Where have the last 6 months gone!!?? I seriously feel like I JUST had him! He has grown so fast and just gets bigger and smarter every day. He has such a cute little personality and is just the sweetes little love ever! I took Jace this morning to have his 6 month pictures done and they turned out really cute. Here are a couple of them....Enjoy!

Day at The Beach

When I asked Madisson what she really wanted to do yesterday she said she wanted to go to the beach. Sounded like a GREAT idea to me, so we packed up the car and off we went! Jace wasnt quite sure about having his feet in the sand, but he loved watching the ocean and the waves. Madisson collected about a million seashells and had fun taking pictures of the starfish and seals. It was a fun little getaway for sure. Good idea Madi!

Reason # 876,098,800 Why My Brother ROCKS...

You can't tell in this picture, but my grass had gotten so tall that the dogs could no longer walk on it. Oh the joys of having a husband out of town and a small baby you can't leave unattended. Thankfully, I have the best brother in the world! Thank you Christopher!!

Summer Fun with Madisson!

My God-Daughter Madisson is spending the first part of her Summer Vacation with us and we are having a great time! We woke up early this morning so we could enjoy the park before this God awful Fresno heat hit. Now we are air conditioner shut ins once again. This 100 degree weather is just not fun! Tommorow we are escaping the heat and hittin the beach!

6 month checkup

Jace had his 6 month checkup today (a few days early.) He weighed in at a whopping 18lbs. 4oz. and 27 inches long! He is now in the 75th percentile, up from the 50th last visit (for whatever that really means in the grand scheme of things.) The doctor said once agan that he is still "absolutely perfect,"her words not mine though obviously I concur. She was in awe of how much of a chatterbox he is. He talked up a storm to her throughout the entire visit. I really cannot even wrap my head around the fact that he is about to turn 6 months in just 8 short days!!

And the pic of the day.....

Is there any such thing as a BOUNCING addiction? If so, here is your poster child!

Aweemaway...

I would like to preface this video with a confession...Iam absolutely aware that I have SOOOOO become one of those moms! You know, the kind who thinks EVERYTHING there child does is HILARIOUS and BRILLIANT! And because you have chosen to indulge me by reading my blog you are now going to be subjected to viewing all things remotely cute that my son does. That being said, Jace was an absolute crack up this morning! I was doing dishes and he was in his Jumparoo next to me. We were listening to music and the Aweemaway song came on. He started going absolutely BONKERS! So I played it again and got the same reaction. He just loves this song! Here is a snippet of Jace and the Aweemaway song. Enjoy!

It actually happened.....

Christopher changed his first diaper today!! My brother has been offering to watch Jace for me for a while and I always laugh at him because the boy has never even changed a diaper. Well, tonight he decided to take the plunge in an effort to prove himself a competent sitter. It was pretty comical I must admit, but after he figured out which way the diaper went he did alright. He struggled a bit with the diaper cream and did not fasten the diaper NEARLY tight enough, but Jace did not seem to mind one little bit. I rewarded the newly "diaper-able" uncle by running to the grocery store while he watched the baby. (Under the experienced eye of his girlfriend of course.) I look forward to much diaper changing practice in his future!

Jace gets a pep talk.....
Please note that the diaper is in fact backwards....
All done...well as soon as he can figure out the snaps on the onesie...

Solid Foods Take One...

Tonight was our first attempt at solid foods. Jace wasn't quite sure what to do with his first bite, but he figured it out pretty quickly. Unfortunately he also figured out that spitting his food out was just as much fun as actually eating it. It was messy, but he sure had fun. We are starting out with Rice Cereal, which was not very flavorfull (OF COURSE I tried it!) Hopefully when we move on to veggies in a couple of weeks he will be more interested in eating than spitting.

Hmm..Wonder what this is all about?

I don't know bout this mom..

It's yummy!
And SO much fun to spit out!!

Let's Go Swimming!

Jace started his swim classes last night and boy did he have fun! We are taking Mommy & Me classes at a local swim school. Last night's class focused on dunking the babies under water and teaching them to hold their breath. Jace did great! He really didn't cry at all. He would come up from being dunked with a surprised look on his face, but as soon as we started praising him he was happy as could be. He is just so much fun and so easy going. I absolutely love being able to have these fantastic experiences with him.

Family Fun

On Sunday Jace, Christopher, and I drove up to Pine Grove to have lunch with the Russell clan. My cousin Shannon and her daughter Katie were visiting from Texas, so we thought it would be a good time to get everyone together. Jace absolutely adored his cousin Katie. She was super enthused about being able to help out with the baby (which is great because she has a new little brother on the way.) Jace was awesome and welcomed the opportunity to drool all over anybody who held him. We really enjoyed spending some time with the family, though it didn't seem long enough.

This is what Jace looks like when mommy gets out of bed early, but he isnt quite ready to. It's so funny how he likes to sleep in.
