First Haircut

Jeremy and I noticed that what was once a perfectly precious baby coif had slowly morphed into a not so precious baby mullet. We decided it was finally time for Jace's first haircut!

As you can see he was SUPER enthused...not so much! We ended up having to wake him up from a nap to bring him into the salon. This was less than ideal circumstance, but he did really well. This is the before picture of the front of his hair. I goofed and didnt get one of the back so you could fully appreciate the mulletness of the situation. =0)
Luckily, Aunt Nat (My cousin and hairstylist) is a pro at baby haircuts. Jace got to sit in Daddy's lap and I'm sure felt like a real big boy. On a side note, where is Daddy's enthusiasm in this pic??
Jace had a few tears, but for the most part stayed still and let Aunt Nat do her thing.
Look at my little guy being so good! (and again with the lack of enthusiasm for the camera Daddy!)

And a picture of the final product...

He looks like such a little big boy now! It's amazing how much a haircut changed how old he looks.

A great big THANK YOU to my cousin Natalie for being so awesome with Jace and getting rid of the baby mullet. =0)

Prince of The Park

The weather has been AMAZING lately and we have taken full advantage by spending a couple hours each day at the park. Jace LOVES it, and since during the school days there usually aren't very many kiddos out there, he is convinced that it is HIS park. He runs around greeting children as though they have come to visit him. It's pretty stinkin cute. He has also taken to hugging any little girls that may be at HIS park. lol. Thus he has been labeled...

He is quite the big boy so he insists on going up the stairs without any help from Mommy. (Don't worry, I stand right behind him in case he falls.)

He is even working up the courage to attempt the Tot Rock Crawl...

His favorite part of the playground is the bridge...

..which he HAS to cross whether it is necessary to get to the particular slide he is after or not...

One Year Portraits!!!

Jamie did it again! She captured our little guy perfectly! We had a lot of fun at this photshoot. We took Jace to the train station and he was absolutely amazed by the big trains. All of the conducters would wave to him and he would wave back. It was too cute! You've got to love the big drool bubble and cheezy smile on the right! He looks like such a little man, I can't get over how big he is!

And here is Jace the first time Jamie photographed him a year ago...

Thank you Jamie for permission to post these! (click her name to see her website.)

Time to Catch Up...

Better late than never.....

First of all let me say a big "I'm sorry" for the lack of blogging lately. Jace has has been emersing us in his toddlerhood and it has been a bit exhausting. Gone is our schedule, nap times, and willingness to spend any length of time without Mommy. We have officially entered the "all Mommy all the time" phase. (Please say it is a phase!) Unfortunately this means that even in his resting hours Jace has to be within 3 inches of Mommy. While I feel VERY loved these days, it can be a bit draining to have a toddler attached to my side 24 hours a day. Thus, my blogging brain has been on standby mode for the last couple weeks. Things are looking up though. My pediatrician had some wonderful ideas for me to try and they seem to be working already. (As you can see, I am actually able to blog during this naptime! WOOHOO).
Anyhoo, the last couple weeks haven't been all struggles and exhaustion. We had a FAAAABULOUS New Years and have been using the post-holiday down time to catch up with our friends and playmates. We hope that this New Year is bringing all of you lots of love, laughter, and blessings.

Mommy and Daddy all dressed up for our New Years Eve party. Uncle Chris and Auntie Monica watched Jace so that we could enjoy a night out with our friends. It was good times for sure!

We spent New Years weekend at the beach with all the family.

Jace and Nonna playing in the wind...

Awww... Uncle Chris and Auntie Monica are so stinkin cute!

Grandpa Ruben tearing it up on the quad...

Jace with his favorite big boy Logan...

I will try to be better about posting. I am attempting a new and hopefully more effective "schedule" for Jace. So hopefully within the next few days we can get adjusted and I will have more time and brain function to dedicate to blogging.
