Attack of the KISSIE FACE!!!

I absolutely need to invest in a video camera! Pictures just do not do this justice. Jace has started giving kisses!! I started saying KISSIES every time I would give him a kiss and he would crack up laughing. (Everything mommy does in a high pitched voice is absolutely HILARIOUS to this little guy.) Well the other day I noticed that everytime I did KISSIES on his face Jace would open his mouth really wide. After a couple big sloppy connections with my face I realized that HE was giving ME kisses!!! It is precious! Now everytime I say KISSIES that little mouth of his pops right open for an enthusiastic Jace style kiss. Further proof that my child is obviously not only a genius, but loves his mommy as much as she loves him. It makes me wonder how I ever went a day without those big ol' kisses from this sweet little boy.

This picture just makes me happy! I swear this kiddo is one happy little guy. He is playing and laughing more and more each day. I may never get anything done again. All I want to do is play with him and hear his little laugh.

9 lbs. of Smiling Laughing Fun

Jace officially weighs 9 whole lbs.!! He is doing absolutely great! We had a couple rough nights of what we think is a touch of colic, but things seem to be back to normal. THANK GOODNESS! He is changing more and more each day. Wednesday Jace started to play and laugh with mommy! I tickle his chin and lips wth his pacifier and he cracks up laughing. It is too much fun. He even spits out his "Binky" so that I will play with him more. It is so cute! Daddy and Nona have even been in on the Binky fun! They are loving it and so am I. His laughing smile is absolutely precious. Who knew that a little boy's gums could melt a mamma's heart. Here is a pic I snapped while we were playing our new game. Sorry the pic is so bad, but it is impossible to snap a good picture while tickling an infant with a pacifier, cracking up laughing, and holding the camera. It gives you a good idea of his little laugh in all its gummy glory though.

New BFFs

Jace has made 3 new friends and he just loves them. He is absolutely mesmerized by their every move and cries when they have to go away. Yes, Mr Frog, Mr Monkey, and Mr Toucan provide hours of entertainment for Jace. He sits in his swing and just stares at them and coos. This is fabulous news for mom, who can now enjoy breakfast with both hands free!



Mommy also has a new best friend. The MetroWrap by MetroMamma is a GODSEND! I just wrap it around myself and put Jace inside. My hands are free to clean house and Jace is happy as can be to be close to mommy. We even went for a walk to the grocery store in it today and Jace loved it! I got some funny looks from people wondering what on Earth I was wearing, but once they realized it was a baby everyone thought it was too cool. Seriously, this baby carrier is AWESOME! Please forgive the cheezy pic, but I just had to show it off. Jace is actually sleeping away in there!

Our Big Boy

Well, it is official, this little boy is growing up way too fast already! We went to the Dr. today and Jace has already gained just shy of 2 pounds from his birth weight!! That is not including the half pound he lost and gained back the first week! He weighed in at 8lbs. 4oz. The doctor was impressed at how well he is eating and how much weight he is gaining. (It must be nice to have your weight gain celebrated. hehe) He is also now completely pushing himself up when you put him on his belly. It's too cute. If we put him on our chests and lay down with him he pushes himself up so he can look at us. So fun to watch him grow and change so much every day!

The Almost Smile

Ok, so I know that everyone says that when newborns smile it is merely gas, but i SWEAR Jace smiles and laughs in response to his silly mommy! In the beggining, I will admit, his smiles usually were followed by a toot or two. The last few days though, he has been really alert and actually smiling in response to things. Here is a pic I snapped in my attempt to prove that my son is clearly a genius who is smiling months before any other baby. You can see his "almost smile" which OF COURSE was the most I could get out of him while I actually had the camera ready. More confirming evidence to follow.

ROAD TRIP!!!!

Jace got to take his very first road trip today! We went up to Stockton so that Jace could meet his Great Grandpa and Grandma Armstrong. We enjoyed a nice lunch and a great visit with Grandpa and Edith. We even had the oppurtunity to get a picture of the 4 generations all together.

Grandma & Grandpa Hawkins

Grandma and Grandpa Hawkins finally made it from Arizona to meet Jace! They are absolutely in love with their first grandbaby (and really who could blame them?) Jace is enjoying spending time with Grandma every morning while daddy works and mommy gets a few winks in.

Daddy's Home

After his first day back at work, and away from baby, Daddy had to get in some quality time (and mommy had to get in a nap!) Daddy is still on leave, but is going into work here and there to stay caught up . Mommy is using this time to attempt getting back on to a schedule, but Jace has other ideas and a schedule all his own!

Nona & The Uncles

Here are just a couple pictures of Jace and his Nona. She is just crazy about him (and he's pretty fond of her too!) She was a huge help to both mommy and daddy in the delivery room ( and since we've been home). She even got to cut Jace's umbilical cord after Daddy! Thank you Nona for all your love and help!

Uncle Chris is one of Jace's number one fans. He was there for the birth (though he intended to be in the waiting room and got trapped in the delivery room because everything happened so quickly.) He calls daily to check in on Jace and comes over every chance he gets. He can't get enough of his new little nephew and Jace certainly doesnt mind the attention.

Uncle Jeff has been super busy, but comes to visit Jace when he can. He was a little reluctant to hold such a tiny baby, but once Jace was in his arms he was an instant pro! You're a natural Uncle Jeff!
