Happy Halloween!

Jace had a fun and friend filled Halloween. Last night we took him to Jeremy's work for a little Halloween party and Trick or Treating. It was a short stay, but long enough to show off his cute little Monkey costume and for him to get his very first "treat." From there we went to the main event, which was a costume party for the kiddos. Our friend Mellissa graciously hosted a party for all of our cuties. It was too much fun watching them all play in their costumes. Tonight we were planning on just laying low and handing out candy, but decided to go visit one of Jeremy's friends, who had set up quite a spooky little haunted house. I was shocked, but Jace never got scared. He might just be too little to understand what should be scary, but he handled every ghost, goblin, and ghoul amazingly well. All in all I would call Jace's first Halloween a success. Hope everyone else enjoyed their Halloween!

Getting his very first "treat." Don't worry, Daddy ate it for him.
All the kiddos in their costumes. They were almost impossible to wrangle, so this is the best shot of all of them.

Our Mascot

Thank You Auntie Cheryl for Our Little Mascot's Uniform! I have been waiting FOREVER it seems for this to fit him! HORRAY! It finally does!!!!!

Jace got a visit from Grandma Linda this weekend...

He enjoyed showing her all of his toys and telling her all his new words...

Great Auntie Cindy also came for the visit and Jace just thought she was the greatest!

Other than our guests, we had a rather uneventful weekend. We are just doing the countdown to Daddy being home from training. He should be home Tuesday and will get to be here to enjoy all of the Halloween festivities. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Jace's 1st Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday afternoon we snuck in a short trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Jeremy leaves tommorow for 2 weeks of "deployment training"(apparently a year and a half of being deployed once before isnt enough) so we wanted to make sure we could go as a family before it was too late. It was too much fun. I wish I would have gotten a picture of Jace's face when he first saw all of the pumpkins. He was downright giddy. He was smiling from ear to ear so we put him down with the first little bunch of pumpkins we could find. He immediately started laughing and saying "Ball!! Ball!!" He totally thought it was a sea of balls all for him to play with. So cute! Here are a few pictures from the day.

You can't really tell in the picture, but Jace is in fact dancing with the pumpkins...

Utterly Adorable Randomness

So, these warrant a little background explanation. This little photo-op started in my kitchen. Jace loves to sit in things (laundry baskets, buckets, etc.) so this morning while I was trying to do dishes I thought I would entertain him by letting him sit in my soup pot. He had a blast, unfortunately the lighting in my kitchen (my whole house for that matter) is tragic. He was so cute in that darn pot that I had to take him outside into better light to snap a few shots. They turned out so sweet that I thought I would share.

Doesnt this face just say "Mom, Im in a pot..in the backyard...come on!"

9 Month Pictures

With our crazy schedules lately it took me a couple weeks to finally get these done, but they were clearly worth the wait. My little bundle of smiles is DEFINATELY not shy around the camera. He had the entire portrait studio wrapped around his chubby little finger with his hysteric laughter during the session. I think they turned out pretty good this time too. He really is starting to look more like a little boy lately. *sob* My baby is growing up so fast!

I'm The King Of The World!

This weekend we loaded up the trailer again and headed up to the mountains with some friends. It was so nice to just relax and do NOTHING for 4 days! Saturday we rented a big house boat and spent the day on the lake. Jace was SOOOOO in love with the lake. As soon as we got on the boat he looked around and said "Wa-Wa." Our baby is such a genius. Everyone knows what a nut for the "Wa-Wa" Jace is so it is no surprise that he smiled ear to ear all day. Jeremy, being the always thinking daddy that he is, brought Jace's playpen on the boat. So we set him up where he could look out over the lake SAFELY. BEST idea EVER!! Jace stood giggling in his playpen and watched the lake in complete and total happiness almost the whole time. We were all just cracking up at how happy he was. It was a great time had by all.
