This weekend I got a little bit of a wild hair and decided to build a sandbox for Jace. I've been contemplating this project for a while, and finally put my plans to work. The spot where I built it has already been used as a sandbox for quite some time, but now it's a lot more functional.

This morning Jace told me that he was going to go get dressed ALL BY HIMSELF. I thought it would, at the very least, be interesting to see so I sat back and waited. Before he came out of his room he told me to, and I quote, "Get ready to ROCK!" He then came out looking like this:

A Picture Fix For Grandma...and An Update on Me

Hello Blogworld! Long time no post, I know. For those who don't know, I actually have a darn good excuse this time. I have been SUPER, and I mean SUPER, busy with my photography. I had decided that I was going to spend this year building a photography portfolio. What started out as taking pictures of my friends and their children very quickly morphed into a quasi business that has me completely booked through the end of this year. It is crazy to say the least. I am learning alot and getting all kinds of experience, but unfortunately my personal pictures are suffering. I am really working on balancing the two, but in the mean time here are a few cute snaps of Jace to tied over grandma and anyone else who hasn't given up on our poor little family blog just yet. =0)

The Cabin

A couple of weekends ago we got a chance to head up to my Aunt and Uncle's cabin with my dad's side of the family (minus Tom, John, Cheryl, and Keith who were missed for sure.) I was so excited to take Jace and Jeremy there for the first time. I have lots of great memories of going there as a child and I couldn't wait to share that with them. We had the added bonus of getting to spend some time with my cousin from Texas and her kids. YAY!

Jace got to go on hikes and collect walking sticks...


...hang out with his supercool cousins...


...and pig out on S'mores and roasted "mush pillows."


He and his cousin Katie were UBER fashionable playing out on the deck in the mornings in their jammies and tennies...


And Jace and Ryan got to do super dirty boy stuff. They both especially liked throwing rocks in the creek and playing in the mud.


We even managed to get a little family picture in. (Thanks Shannon!)


It was a great weekend and we so enjoyed getting to spend time with the family!
